A tense interception in Yenne
On Monday, December 22, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., the Yenne gendarmerie brigade intercepted two suspicious vehicles at the Yenne Todd intersection during a routine traffic stop. One of the vehicles managed to escape, while the second drove directly at the officers. After a chase, the car was abandoned, and its occupants fled on foot.
According to information provided to Seneweb by Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye, gendarmes discovered 150 kg of Indian hemp hidden in the trunk of the vehicle.
On the same day, the Foire territorial brigade, supported by a squadron from the Gendarmerie Intervention Legion (LGI), arrested an individual caught in the act of selling narcotics during a patrol. He was in possession of 255 ecstasy tablets.
The day before, Sunday, December 21, the local police brigade in Tivaouane Peulh dismantled a trafficking network following the exploitation of a tip. Nine people were arrested.
