Yeumbeul Sud : un réseau d’homosexuels démantelé, un suspect ignorait qu’il avait le sida
The investigation into the network of suspected homosexuals dismantled in Yeumbeul Sud has taken a more serious turn. Following revelations about the HIV status of the main suspect, Cheikh C. (20 years old), medical tests have revealed a second case of HIV within the group. This is Ibrahima F. (33 years old), a driver by profession, reports Les Échos.
A striking fact of the interrogation, the newspaper notes, is that Sheikh C. stated to investigators that he was completely unaware that he had AIDS before his arrest and the subsequent screening tests.
Sheikh C. and Ibrahima F. are now being prosecuted for unnatural acts and endangering the lives of others by intentionally transmitting the virus. The four other suspects, although they tested negative, remain under investigation for the offenses related to the alleged intimate relationships.
When questioned in turn, the second carrier of the virus in the group, Ibrahima F., admitted to practicing unnatural acts but firmly denied having had sexual relations with Sheikh C., despite the latter's repeated visits to his home.
For their part, the other members of the gang—young tailors, tilers, and apprentice drivers, most of them born in 2005—tried to deny the charges. Unfortunately for them, their line of defense was swept aside by the police, who uncovered “compromising conversations” on their phones, according to Les Échos.
