The practice is particularly alarming given that approximately thirty vehicles undergo inspection daily at this facility. The MP stated the most recent documented case occurred on April 8, 2026, when a motorist reported being solicited for a 5,000 CFA franc payment to "facilitate" his inspection. This would mark the third documented case involving the same office, with clear identification of the implicated officials.

Beyond corruption concerns, Guy Marius Sagna warned of the potential consequences of these practices. Technical inspections are essential for ensuring road safety by checking critical systems like brakes, steering, and emissions.
