Ziguinchor : Un jeune garçon de 7 ans emporté par les eaux du canal de Korentas trouve la mort

F. Ndiaye, a 7-year-old boy, was swept away by the waters of the Korentas Canal this Tuesday in Ziguinchor. He was found drowned. The boy, according to local reports, was swept away while swimming in the rain this morning.

The child trapped by the waters of the Korentas Canal was found drowned after several hours of searching by firefighters and other experienced residents of the area.

F. Ndiaye was in Ziguinchor for a vacation. His lifeless body was taken to the morgue of the Ziguinchor Regional Hospital.

The distraught population of Korentas is calling for the canal to be secured.

The construction of the Korentas Canal, as a reminder, is one of the projects that the current Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, then Mayor of Ziguinchor, had announced.
