Mondial 2022 : Argentine-Arabie saoudite, le quatrième arbitre sénégalais dit stop à 39 ans
Maguette Ndiaye, 39, has hung up his whistle. The Senegalese international referee announced his early retirement in a message widely reported by the media. "It's a carefully considered decision," he said. "I am now committed to training, mentoring, and supporting the new generation of referees in order to give back to refereeing everything it has given me."
Maguette Ndiaye has officiated at prestigious competitions: World Cup (Qatar 2022), CAN (2019 and 2021), Chan (2018), U20 World Cup (2019)… He was the fourth referee of the Argentina-Saudi Arabia match at the last World Cup.
Unfortunately, he was not selected for the next CAN (Morocco 2025).
According to Wiwsport, reported by Le Quotidien, Maguette Ndiaye began his career at the age of 14. He will therefore have practiced his profession for 25 years.
