CAN 2025 : Les deux possibles adversaires du Sénégal en huitièmes de finale
Senegal secured first place in Group D after their 3-0 victory over Benin. Pape Thiaw's men will therefore play their round of 16 match on January 3rd in Tangier. But against whom?
Based on current results, Senegal can only face two of the four best third-placed teams. This will be either the third-placed team from Group E or the third-placed team from Group F.
In Group E, Algeria is guaranteed first place and Equatorial Guinea is guaranteed fourth. Burkina Faso and Sudan, who will face each other tomorrow, will determine second and third place. The loser of this match will be one of Senegal's two likely opponents. In the event of a draw, Senegal will play Sudan.
In Group F, Mozambique currently sits in third place. However, the Mozambicans will face Cameroon in an attempt to overturn the standings. We will therefore have to wait until tomorrow to find out who Senegal's opponent will be in the round of 16.

Une qualification doublement historique puisque les Taifa Stars deviennent ainsi les premiers à se qualifier avec seulement deux points et se retrouvent quatrièmes des meilleurs troisièmes aux côtés du Mozambique, du Soudan et du Bénin.
