Coupe du monde 2026 : La FIFA va verser une prime de 8,2 millions d’euros au Sénégal
Senegal's qualification for the 2026 World Cup not only brings sporting pride, but also a significant financial reward. The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) will pay a bonus of €8.2 million, or approximately 5.3 billion CFA francs, to the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF).
This sum constitutes an official reward for the Lions' qualification for the most prestigious world football competition, scheduled from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. It will allow the FSF to strengthen its preparations, both logistically and technically, for a successful participation.
Senegal, which will be competing in its third consecutive World Cup, after 2018 and 2022, has established itself as a reliable player in African football. Under the leadership of Pape Thiaw, the Lions completed an exemplary qualifying campaign, marked by a prolific attack and a solid defense.
This financial windfall should help consolidate Senegal's ambitions, which now dreams of equaling, or even surpassing, its best historical run, the quarter-finals reached in 2002.
While waiting for the draw scheduled for the coming months, the 2021 African champions can savor their qualification and calmly prepare for their new global adventure.
