FIFA is planning a "Finalissima" between Argentina and Spain, winners of the Copa América and the Euro respectively, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup. Montevideo's Centenario Stadium, the site of the inaugural final in 1930, is the candidate to host this dream match.
According to AS, the slot is already locked between March 26 and 31, 2025, just before the draw for the 2026 World Cup. While Doha, London, and Miami are also candidates, Uruguay has a major advantage with its legendary stadium. A match that will feel like a passing of the torch between Messi, 37 in the spring and probably on the eve of his last major international competition, against Yamal, 18, a symbol of Spain's revival. Arrêtez de faire ce genre de comparaison. Messie a commencé et terminé une très grosse carrière sportive avec un niveau jusque là inégalé ; Yamal lui vient juste de commencer , certes avec bcp de brio mais sa carrière reste sous la menace du temps et du challenge de se maintenir au top comme l’a réussi Lionel Messi. Alors vouloir les comparer relève de fantaisie de journaliste
