Face-à-face manqué : ce que risque Tapha Tine
With less than three days to go before the fight scheduled for Sunday at the National Arena between Tapha Tine and Franc, tensions are running high between promoter Mansour Ba, head of Jambaar Productions, and the camp of the wrestler from the Baol Mbollo stable. The cause, according to Record, is Tapha Tine's absence from the face-off organized Wednesday evening on 2STV.
While his opponent was present on set, Tapha Tine chose not to attend, preferring to hold a press conference in his village of Réfane on the same day. This promotional event was, however, the third face-off scheduled under the contract between the two wrestlers and the promoter, the specialized newspaper points out.
The developer's anger
Originally scheduled for February 8, the event was disrupted by a circular from the Senegalese Wrestling Federation (FSL) prohibiting face-to-face matches, before an exception was finally granted for Wednesday.
As reported by the sports daily, Mansour Ba claims to have informed Tapha Tine's camp as early as Monday. Faced with their "categorical refusal" to run, he denounces a lack of respect for the colossal investments and sponsors.
Imminent financial sanctions
The head of Jambaar Productions was crystal clear: responsibilities will be taken. Mansour Ba announced that Tapha Tine's fee will be deducted.
"Let no one be surprised... Jambaar will impose sanctions," he insisted, recalling that Tapha Tine should have honored his commitments out of respect for the financial partners.
