Ligue des champions d’Afrique : six équipes déjà qualifiées pour les quarts de finale
The group stage of the CAF Champions League comes to an end this weekend. Following the matches of the 6th and final matchday, six teams have secured their place in the quarter-finals.
In Group A, defending champions Pyramids FC concluded the group stage with a 3-1 victory over Power Dynamos. Thanks to this third consecutive win, the Egyptian club finished top of the group with 16 points. RS Berkane, featuring Senegalese players Mamadou Lamine Camara and Paul Valère Bassène, took second place after their convincing 3-0 win against Rivers United.
In Group C, Al Hilal Omdurman secured their place in the quarterfinals with a 1-0 victory over Saint-Éloi Lupopo. The Sudanese club, which features Senegalese defender Ousmane Diouf, finished top of the group ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns, who defeated MC Alger 2-0.
In Group D, Stade Malien, already assured of first place, lost in Tanzania to Simba SC (1-0). Meanwhile, Espérance de Tunis secured their qualification by beating Petro Luanda (2-0), thus finishing second in the group.
The last two tickets for the quarter-finals will be awarded this Sunday following the decisive matches in Group B, pitting Al Ahly against FAR Rabat, and Young Africans against JS Kabylie.
