Senegal's representatives in African club competitions, Jaraaf and Génération Foot, each received a grant of 25 million CFA francs from the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF). This total grant of 50 million CFA francs is intended to help the two clubs make a strong start to the first round of the Champions League and the CAF Cup.
This financial aid comes at a difficult time, marked by the cessation of subsidies from the Ministry of Sports, which covered the international travel costs of clubs competing in African competitions. This situation seriously complicated the preparation of Senegalese representatives, who were already facing significant financial constraints.
As a reminder, the FSF had already supported its representatives last season, notably Teungueth FC and Jaraaf, who each received 25 million FCFA before their entry into the competition.
With travel remaining particularly costly, this new subsidy will provide a boost to Jaraaf, who are expected in Cameroon to face Colombe Sportive du Sud in the Champions League. Génération Foot, for its part, will host AFAD Abidjan in the CAF Cup before traveling to Ivory Coast.
The first leg matches of the first preliminary round are scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2025.
