Afrobasket masculin Angola 2025 : DeSagana Diop dévoile la liste des 12 Lions, Babacar Sané écarté
Ngagne DeSagana Diop, the coach of Senegal's men's national basketball team, has unveiled the list of 12 players who will represent the country at Afrobasket 2025. While key players such as Omar Branco Badio, Jean-Jacques Boissy and Gora Camara are present, the national coach will have to do without two pivots, Tacko Fall (29 years old, 2.26 m) and Youssoupha Ndoye (34 years old, 2.13 m), both of whom are out due to injuries.
Another notable absence: Babacar Sané (21 years old, 2.01 m). A young talent in Senegalese basketball, the Bignona native was left out by the coaching staff. A huge disappointment for the player, who had hoped to shine at this African event. On his Instagram account, in a story, he did not hide his surprise, posting this short message: "It's crazy! Good luck to everyone."
The 31st edition of Afrobasket will take place from August 12 to 24 in Angola. Senegal will kick off its campaign on August 12 against Uganda, before facing Egypt (August 14) and Mali (August 16) in Luanda. As a reminder, the Lions, five-time African champions (1968, 1972, 1978, 1980, and 1997), have not won the Afrobasket for 28 years.

Franchement, Babacar Sané a toute sa place dans cette liste. Vous prenez des décisions selon vos humeurs et cela n'est pas bon. Avec une telle décision, vous risquez de sacrifier tout un pays en ne remportant pas ce trophée.
