Alexander Sørloth, attaquant norvégien : «Nos adversaires vont souffrir »
Having qualified for their first World Cup since 1998, Norway approaches the 2026 tournament with high ambitions. With a perfect record in the qualifiers, the Scandinavian team intends to be a spoiler in North America and plans to rely on its attacking prowess to make a lasting impression.
In an interview with FIFA, Atlético Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth expressed his confidence just days before the start of the competition. The Norwegian international believes his team has the necessary qualities to have a successful run.
“We had a flawless qualifying campaign and, given our performance, there’s reason to be optimistic. We’re not going to North America just to make up the numbers. There’s a chance to make a real impact. We can go far. In any case, I have a good feeling about it,” said the 30-year-old player.
Sørloth also highlighted the strength of Norway's attacking options, led in particular by star player Erling Haaland. According to him, the complementary nature of the forwards is one of the main strengths of the team managed by Ståle Solbakken.
“We have three excellent strikers with complementary profiles. Whether it’s Erling or me, we are very dangerous in the box. I believe our opponents are going to suffer,” he warned.
Norway is in the group along with France, Senegal and Iraq.
