André Onana et Vincent Aboubakar absents, Christian Kofane et Eric-Junior Dina Ebimbe appelés... La liste du Cameroun pour la CAN 2025

This Monday, three weeks before the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, David Pagou's Cameroon, recently appointed as coach after the dismissal of Marc Brys, announced the list of players who will go to Morocco.

Monday evening was eventful for the Cameroonian national team. Three weeks before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Cameroonian Football Federation decided to dismiss Marc Brys from his position as head coach and appoint David Pagou in his place. Two days after his re-election as head of the federation, Samuel Eto'o took advantage of this situation to announce a list of 28 players who will be called up for the AFCON.

André Onana (Trabzonspor), in open conflict with former Barça number 9 Michael Ngadeu (Beijing Guoan), and Vincent Aboubakar (Neftchi PFK) – three men not exactly in the president's good graces – were logically left out. However, it is more surprising to see Jackson Tchatchoua (Wolverhampton) omitted from the squad. Frank Zambo Anguissa (Napoli), meanwhile, was forced to withdraw due to a hamstring injury in his left thigh.

Among those on the list are regulars Bryan Mbeumo (Manchester United) and Carlos Baleba (Brighton), but also Christian Kofane (Leverkusen) and former PSG midfielder Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe (Brest) who will play their first matches for the Indomitable Lions.

After failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, Cameroon will make their entry into the 2025 AFCON against Gabon on December 24 at 9pm.

The list of 28 selected players

Goalkeepers: Devis Epassy (Dinamo Bucharest), Simon Omossola (Saint-Éloi Lupopo), Simon Ngapandouetnbu (Montpellier), Edouard Sombang (Colombe Sport)

Midfielders: Martin Ndzie (Rapid Vienne), Carlos Baleba (Brighton), Arthur Avom (Lorient), Eric-Junior Dina Ebimbe (Brest), Brice Ambina (Valerenga), Jean Junior Onana (Genoa), Olivier Kemen (Istanbul Basaksehir)
