Arsenal : William Saliba vers une longue absence ?
Arsenal could have to do without one of their key defenders for several months. Injured during France's 2-0 World Cup semi-final defeat to Spain at the 2026 World Cup, William Saliba may require surgery.
The French centre-back left the field in the first half after experiencing severe back pain. According to L'Équipe, this physical problem, which has bothered him for nearly six weeks, worsened to the point where he was unable to continue playing against Spain.
Before making a final decision, Saliba still needs to undergo further medical examinations. However, the option of surgery is now being seriously considered by the player and his medical team.
At Arsenal, this possibility is causing serious concern. The London club believes that surgery could sideline their defender for four to five months. If this scenario materializes, the French international would miss the start of the 2026-2027 season and would not return to competition until around December.
A real blow for the Gunners, who could be without one of their most important players for a long period.
