2026 World Cup Playoffs: Nigeria eliminates Gabon and advances to the final

Barrages Coupe du monde 2026 : Le Nigeria écarte le Gabon file en finale

Nigeria qualified for the playoff final after a 4-1 victory over Gabon following extra time. In a hard-fought match, the Super Eagles opened the scoring through Akor Adams in the 78th minute. Nigeria held onto their lead until the 89th minute when Mario Lemina equalized.

In extra time, Nigeria managed to make the difference through Chidera Ejuke, who came on in the second half (97th minute) and the inevitable Victor Oshimen who scored a brace (102nd and 110th minutes).

Thanks to this clear victory, Nigeria has secured its place in the final, where it will face the winner of the second semi-final between Cameroon and DR Congo.
