Basket-Éliminatoires Mondial 2027 : Le Sénégal domine la RDC et termine deuxième du groupe B
Senegal concluded the second window of the FIBA 2027 World Cup qualifiers with a 75-56 victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday in Dakar. This win allows the Lions to finish second in Group B with 5 points, behind Ivory Coast (6 points).
The Senegalese won the first quarter (23-16) before building a significant lead in the second quarter (26-10). At halftime, the score was 49-26.
After the break, the game was more balanced. The Lions faltered slightly, conceding the third quarter (11-12) and then the fourth (15-18), without, however, jeopardizing their lead built up in the first half.
The return matches of this phase are scheduled during the July window, where the Lions will try to consolidate their position for the next round.
As a reminder, the top three teams from each group advance to the next round. The twelve teams that qualify at the end of this stage will then be divided into two groups of six. At the end of this phase, the top two teams from each group, along with the best third-placed team, will qualify for the final tournament of the 2027 World Cup, scheduled to be held in Qatar.
