Belgique : Mamadou Diakhon sacré champion avec le Club Brugge
Not selected by Pape Thiaw for the 2026 World Cup, Mamadou Diakhon found consolation in winning the Belgian championship with Club Brugge.
On the final day of the playoffs, a draw was all Club Brugge needed to clinch the title. Held to a 2-2 draw away at Mechelen, Club Brugge, with Mamadou Diakhon remaining on the bench, ultimately benefited from the draw of their main rival, Union Saint-Gilloise, who were held to a 0-0 draw by Gent.
Finishing second in the regular season, Club Brugge secured the title thanks to an excellent playoff campaign, marked by seven wins in nine matches. The club thus claimed its 20th Belgian league title.
