Équipe nationale du Burkina Faso : 82 candidats en lice pour succéder à Brama Traoré
Burkina Faso is preparing to choose a new national coach in an unprecedented context. Just days after Gabon, which had registered more than 60 candidates to replace Thierry Mouyouma, the Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF) has recorded a record number of applications for the Stallions' job.
In an official statement, the FBF announced that it had received no less than 82 applications from technicians of different nationalities, following the call for applications launched to recruit the future coach of the national A team.
"Following the call for applications launched by the FBF to recruit a national coach for the Stallions A, the general secretariat has registered 82 applications," specifies the governing body of Burkinabe football.
The FBF also indicates that all files have been forwarded to the competent commission responsible for examining them in accordance with the criteria defined in the call for applications.
Following this initial phase, a shortlist of candidates will be drawn up. The shortlisted coaches will then be invited for interviews scheduled for February 19, 20, and 21.
This process follows the federation's decision to end its collaboration with Brama Traoré after the Stallions' return from the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco-2025. The FBF thus intends to turn a new page and find the ideal profile to relaunch the Burkinabe national team on the continental and international stage.
