Finale aller de la Coupe CAF : l'USM Alger arrache la victoire face au Zamalek
The first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final took place this Saturday. Union Sportive de la Médina d'Alger (USMA), featuring Senegalese players Lamine Ndiaye and Aimé Tendeng, hosted Zamalek of Egypt. It was a hard-fought final that ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for USMA.
The match turned in stoppage time. On a counter-attack, Juan Bezerra thought he had given Zamalek the victory. But, after a VAR review, his goal was disallowed and a penalty was ultimately awarded to USMA.
Tasked with converting the penalty, Ahmed Khaldi did not falter and gave the victory to the Algerian club (90+7).
In a week, USMA and its Senegalese players, Lamine Ndiaye and Aimé Tendeng, will have the heavy task of defending this narrow lead in Cairo.
