CAF : Jean-Jacques Ndala désigné pour une nouvelle grande finale africaine
Despite persistent criticism, Congolese referee Jean-Jacques Ndala is preparing to officiate once again in a major final organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Although heavily criticized since his performance in the AFCON-2025 final between Morocco and Senegal (0-1) and excluded by FIFA from the 2026 World Cup, the Congolese referee is nonetheless supported by the governing body of African football, which continues to place its trust in him.
Proof of this esteem, Ndala has been retained for important matches in recent months. He notably officiated the final matchday of the CAF Champions League group stage, the Young Africans SC-JS Kabylie game, before taking charge of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final between Al-Masry SC and CR Belouizdad.
Following this, he was appointed to referee the African Champions League final between AS FAR of Morocco and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, scheduled for May 17 in Pretoria.
This appointment confirms, despite the controversies, Jean-Jacques Ndala's status among the leading referees on the continent.
