CAN 2025 : Le "superordinateur" de OPTA prédit le vainqueur de la compétition
From December 21, 2025, to January 19, 2026, the 24 African national teams will compete in Morocco to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Opta, the sports data analytics platform, used its supercomputer (an extremely powerful machine designed to perform complex calculations and process enormous volumes of data) to predict the future winner. And the Senegalese will be disappointed!
Indeed, Opta's prediction machine forecasts that Morocco, buoyed by its home crowd, will win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. According to the "supercomputer," the Atlas Lions have a 19.1 chance of winning the competition, the highest percentage of all the participating teams.
After Morocco, Opta considers Egypt to have the best chance of winning the competition, ahead of Senegal with a 12.4% probability compared to 12.3% for the Lions of Teranga. Strangely, Opta believes Senegal has a better chance of reaching the final, along with Morocco, than Egypt, despite the latter being considered the second favorite for the title. Pape Thiaw's players have a 21.9% chance of playing Morocco in the final (29.9%) than Egypt (21.8%), according to data shared by Opta.
