CAN 2025 : Pape Thiaw mise sur la cohésion et évacue les polémiques
With the start of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations fast approaching, Senegal's coach, Pape Thiaw, has confirmed Habib Diarra's return to the squad. After a few weeks of uncertainty regarding his club situation, the young midfielder is now fully fit for the tournament.
Speaking at a press conference, Pape Thiaw was keen to put an end to the discussions surrounding the recent tensions with the player's entourage. "I don't wish to revisit the dispute with the Como coach (Editor's note: Cesc Fabregas). Regarding Habib Diarra's case, communication allowed us to manage the situation well," he clarified from the outset, preferring to focus on the sporting aspect.
Habib Diarra's return is the result of meticulous coordination. "He rejoined us yesterday and, thanks to the coordination between Sunderland's medical staff, his personal physiotherapist, and our staff, his rehabilitation has gone very well. We now hope that he will be fully fit to reintegrate into the group," the Senegalese coach explained.
The Lions' coach took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of synergy between European clubs and national teams, particularly crucial before a major tournament. "Good communication greatly facilitates the management of difficult situations. It allows the player to free his mind and focus on his main objective: to perform well for his country," added Pape Thiaw.
With a squad now at full strength and an infirmary that is emptying, Senegal approaches this final phase with serenity, bolstered by a staff management deemed exemplary by the coach.
