Senegal has reached the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Lions will face the Pharaohs of Egypt in the first semi-final of the tournament in Morocco next Wednesday in Tangier (4 p.m.). This is good news for the new national team, which can boast of having performed better than its predecessor compared to the previous edition, where Sadio Mané and his teammates were eliminated in the round of 16.
This progress is all the more remarkable as it allows the federation to pocket 1.4 billion CFA francs, representing the prize money paid by CAF to each of the semi-finalist teams, reports Walfadjri Quotidien. This sum enables the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) to cover a deficit estimated by its new president, Abdoulaye Fall, at 2.4 billion CFA francs by the end of 2024.
