CAN Maroc 2025 : Tanzanie / Ouganda, un nul qui n’arrange personne
The East African clash between Tanzania and Uganda ended in a draw. Played in torrential rain, the two sides played to a 1-1 stalemate after a hard-fought and evenly matched contest.
Tanzania opened the scoring in the 59th minute thanks to Simon Happygod Msuva, who converted a penalty after Baba handled the ball. Despite this lead, the game remained very close, with both teams trading blows.
In the final quarter of an hour, Uganda increased the pressure and were eventually rewarded. In the 80th minute, the powerful Ugandan striker Uchechukwu Mubiru Ikpeazu (1.90 m tall and weighing 78 kg) leveled the score.
The Ugandans even thought they could snatch victory by winning a penalty late in the game. But Okelo, tasked with taking it in the 89th minute, completely missed his attempt, sending the ball into the stands.
In the end, the two teams parted with a draw (1-1), a result that does not help either Tanzania or Uganda, both of whom were looking for points after a defeat in the previous matchday.
