CAN U17 Maroc-2026 : Le Ghana et l’Algérie se neutralisent dans un match à suspense
Ghana, Senegal's next opponent in Group D, began their U17 AFCON campaign with a draw against Algeria (2-2). However, the young Ghanaians had made a perfect start to the match, leading 2-0 after just ten minutes.
Gavi Robinho Yao opened the scoring in the 3rd minute before Éric Adu Gymfi doubled the lead seven minutes later (10th). The Black Starlets thus went into halftime with a two-goal advantage.
But in the second half, Algeria returned to the pitch with better attacking intentions. In the space of three minutes, the young Algerians erased their deficit thanks to goals from Adam Benali (57th minute) and Melwane Zaidi (60th minute).
Algeria could even have taken all three points if Ilyes Grini hadn't missed a penalty in the 67th minute.
