Demi-finales CHAN-2024 : Sénégal-Maroc, le tenant du titre défie le plus titré
The CHAN semi-finals will be played this Tuesday. Defending champion Senegal will face Morocco, two-time winners (2018 and 2020). A match that promises to be a final ahead of its time.
Both teams, who confirmed their status as favorites by eliminating Uganda and Tanzania respectively, are now aiming for the title. With the tournament's best attack (9 goals) and the top scorer (Oussama Lamliou, 4 goals), Morocco presents itself as a formidable opponent. The Atlas Lions, absent from the last edition won by Senegal, want to lift the trophy to gain confidence ahead of the CAN, which they will host in December 2025.
Opposite, Senegal is banking on its defensive solidity (only one goal conceded since the start of the tournament). Souleymane Diallo's men, despite a still timid attack (3 goals in four matches), hope to overturn Morocco and reach the final.
A promising confrontation where the winner will have a good chance of going all the way.
In the other semi-final, Madagascar will face Sudan.
