Fede Valverde has spoken out to set the record straight regarding the incident that occurred during Real Madrid training. While the Uruguayan acknowledges an altercation with his teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni, he firmly denies any exchange of blows.

Fede Valverde's statement:

"Yesterday, I had an incident with a teammate during a training exercise, in a context where fatigue from competition and frustration cause everything to escalate.

In a normal locker room, these things can happen and are resolved amongst ourselves without getting out. Clearly, someone here is eager to spread the story. With a season without a title and Real Madrid still in their sights, everything is blown out of proportion.

Today, we had another disagreement. During the altercation, I accidentally bumped into a table, resulting in a small cut on my forehead that required a routine check-up at the hospital. At no point did my teammate hit me, nor did I hit him. I understand it's easier to believe we got into a fight, but that's not what happened.

I regret that my anger and frustration at seeing some of us reach the end of the season completely exhausted led me to argue with a teammate. I am sincerely sorry, as this situation hurts me. Real Madrid is one of the most important things in my life, and I cannot remain indifferent. All of this is the result of a build-up that culminates in a senseless argument, giving free rein to those who fabricate and slander. I have no doubt that our off-field friction will end on the pitch; if I have to defend him in the stadium, I will be the first to do so.

I hadn't intended to speak out before the end of the season. After our Champions League elimination, I kept my bitterness to myself. We wasted a year, and I wasn't in the mood to post on social media; the only face I needed to show was on the pitch. That's why this situation saddens me the most, as it prevents me from playing the next match for medical reasons. Not being able to help the team hurts me more than anyone else. I remain available to the club and my teammates for any decision they deem necessary.
