After several weeks away from the pitch, Mamadou Sarr has finally made his return for Chelsea. The Senegalese defender came on in the 81st minute of the Blues' victory against Tottenham on Tuesday, in the 37th round of Premier League fixtures.

Having disappeared from the radar since the arrival on the bench of interim coach Calum McFarlane, appointed after the departure of Liam Rosenior, the young Lions defender took advantage of this match to rediscover some important sensations.

With Chelsea narrowly leading 2-1, the London manager decided to bring on Mamadou Sarr in the final minutes to bolster the right side of the defense and contain Spurs' repeated attacks. The Senegalese international fulfilled this mission admirably in a tense finale.

These precious minutes come at the best possible time for the Senegalese defender, just days before the 2026 World Cup.

After a difficult period on a personal level, this return could allow him to gradually regain confidence and rhythm before the big world event.

J’étais le premier et le seul à condamner le rappel par Chelsea du jeune attaquant Mamadou Sarr en février dernier. Mais comme d’habitude, on ne m’écoute pas dans ce pays.

Bonne chose pour lui , la saison est finie , son entraineur doit lui donner plus de temp de jeux pour leur dernier match ce week end meme s'il cherche une place en Europa League.
