Clint Capela de retour aux Rockets. Identité multiculturelle: Suisse, Angola, Congo

Returning to Houston in 2026, Clint Capela rejoins the franchise where he began his career with undiminished enthusiasm. For the Swiss-Angolan-Congolese center, wearing that jersey again evokes cherished memories and the warrior spirit so characteristic of the Rockets.

Born in Switzerland to a Congolese mother and an Angolan father, Clint embodies a multifaceted identity. This blend of European discipline, African roots, and American culture—acquired during twelve years in the NBA—has shaped the man and impact player he is today.

As the Basketball Africa League (BAL) launches its sixth season, Capela applauds the extraordinary progress made across the continent. He believes the league offers young African talents a unique platform to turn their dreams into reality and reach the pinnacle of world basketball.

Capela was trained in France, where he learned the fundamentals of basketball. The current success of French players in the NBA doesn't surprise him. He points out that the new generation no longer hesitates to leave France early to test themselves in top leagues, from Australia to American universities, in order to maximize their chances of success.

At 31, he is one of the veterans of the American line. The secret to his longevity lies in iron discipline. Strict routine, optimal rest, and daily training are the cornerstones of his ability to maintain peak performance.

He adds another fundamental point: Clint is keen to remind everyone that playing in the NBA was his childhood dream, a dream shared by so many others. For him, it's crucial not to focus solely on results, but to savor every moment and maximize the joy on the court. It's this passion that allows him to maintain his level of performance year after year.

Incroyable...je n'ai jamais su qu'il était Africain et je le pensais en fin de carrière alors qu'il n'a que 31 ans. Mashallah
