Polémique sur la Prime des Lionceaux U15 : la FSF apporte des précisions
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has published a statement to provide details on the financial rewards granted after the historic victory of the U15 Lionceaux at the African School Football Championship.
In its statement, the governing body of Senegalese football first reiterated its congratulations to the U15 team for this performance deemed "brilliant and historic", believing that this success confirms the quality of grassroots training in Senegal.
Faced with numerous questions about the bonuses promised to young champions, the FSF was keen to remind everyone that the regulations of the Confederation of African Football do not provide for any individual victory bonus for players in this school competition reserved for young categories.
The Federation also clarified that the total allocation of $300,000 offered by CAF is not intended to be distributed directly to the players or the FSF. According to the Federation, this sum is managed directly by CAF and must be used exclusively to finance projects jointly approved by the Ministry of National Education and the FSF.
These projects will include the installation of sports facilities, the construction or improvement of infrastructure, and the development of educational programs designed to sustainably strengthen the practice of school football.
Regarding the funds recently distributed to the young champions, the FSF explains that these are solely transportation costs intended to allow the players to return home in comfort and safety. The federation also emphasizes that such support is unprecedented for this age group.
Finally, the Senegalese Football Federation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and protecting young Senegalese talents, while ensuring their sporting, educational and personal development.
