Coupe du monde 2026 : sorti sur blessure, Ilay Camara donne de ses nouvelles
Called up by Pape Thiaw to the Senegal squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, Ilay Camara reassured everyone after his injury during the match between RSC Anderlecht and Saint Trond.
The young right-back left the pitch prematurely in the 14th minute, visibly suffering from a muscle injury, after treatment from the medical staff. He was replaced by Killian Sardella, causing concern among Senegalese fans just weeks before the World Cup.
But the player quickly reassured his fans with a message posted on his Instagram story. "Thank you for your many messages. Everything is fine. Focus on preparing with the national team," wrote Ilay Camara.
Anderlecht coach Jérémy Taravel also offered reassurance after the match. "He didn't want to take any risks," the coach explained.
As a reminder, Ilay Camara had already missed the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after an injury sustained just after the squad announcement. This time, the initial signs seem much more encouraging for the Senegalese player, who is expected to join the Lions of Teranga for the 2026 World Cup preparations.
