Cristiano Ronaldo tire un trait sur la Coupe du monde 2030 et à coup sûr à sa carrière
There will be no 2030 World Cup for Cristiano Ronaldo. At 40 years old, the iconic captain of Portugal confirmed, during a video conference held as part of a tourism forum in Riyadh, that the 2026 World Cup would mark the end of his adventure on the biggest international stage.
“Yes, for sure. I’ll be 41 and I think that will be the right time,” said the Al-Nassr striker, lucid about the weight of years and the need to turn the page after two decades at the highest level.
With 225 caps and 143 goals, Ronaldo already holds several international records, but the World Cup remains one of the few trophies missing from his collection. Despite his club exploits and his triumph at Euro 2016, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has never managed to reach the World Cup final.
His best performance dates back to 2006, when he led Portugal to the semi-finals before being eliminated by France. Since then, disappointments have followed one after another: exit in the round of 16 in 2010, elimination in the first round in 2014, another failure in the round of 16 in 2018, then defeat in the quarter-finals in 2022.
The 2026 World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, will therefore represent the last chance for “CR7” to dream of a world title.

2006, c'était pour eux mais dommage. C'était comme la Guinée avec les Caba Diawara bloquée par le Sénégal.
