Dernier carré de la CAN Maroc-2025 : Des experts du football sénégalais donnent leur avis
Senegal is among the four semi-finalists competing this Wednesday, with the matches kicking off with Senegal vs. Egypt at 5 PM GMT, followed by Morocco vs. Nigeria at 8 PM GMT. Senegalese experts, including FIFA consultant and manager Cheikh Oumar Aïdara and coach Walimata Sèye, have shared their insights on the final four of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Sheikh Oumar Aidara praised the organization of the AFCON in Morocco, describing the competition as "very beautiful" and the infrastructure as "good" and "up to international standards".
According to him, Morocco is a very advanced country in the field of sport, which facilitated the running of the competition. "Morocco is a very advanced country. A country that has invested a lot in sport and that is what facilitates the running of the competition today," he said.
He believes all the major teams distinguished themselves in the competition, which is proof of the quality of the organization. He particularly appreciated the growing strength of the Senegalese team, which played without overexerting itself.
“Senegal has a very complete team, with interchangeable players and high potential. Their main strength lies in their attack, with players capable of scoring at any time. However, they tend to start their matches slowly and need to improve their efficiency in front of goal.”
Speaking along the same lines, coach Walimata Sèye emphasized that the Lions displayed great confidence and good control of the game. However, according to her, they need to address their lack of clinical finishing in front of goal.
According to our experts, the semi-finals promise to be intense, featuring top-level teams like Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria, and Morocco. The FIFA manager believes Senegal and Nigeria have the best chance of reaching the final, while coach Walimata sees Senegal as a serious contender for the continental title given its squad and the form of its players.
Both believe the Moroccan team is considered one of the most complete in the competition. However, they note that the pressure could be on the Atlas Lions against Nigeria.
The Senegal-Egypt match is eagerly anticipated, kicking off at 5 p.m. at the Grand Stade de Tanger. Both teams have strengths to offer, but the Lions appear to have a slight advantage.
