Détention et usage de drogue : Le lutteur Coly Faye condamné, mais libre
The Pikine-Guédiawaye court of flagrant offenses tried wrestler Coly Faye and his associates on Wednesday for drug detection and use.
Following a tip-off, the Thiaroye gendarmerie went to the wrestler's home. After a thorough search, officers discovered a bag containing cannabis seeds. When questioned about ownership of the bag, Coly Faye admitted to owning it. He was arrested along with his staff of six people responsible for mystical matters.
In court, the wrestler admitted to the acts, but denied being a smoker, let alone a drug dealer. His co-defendants also denied the charges of possessing marijuana against them.
In his observations, the public prosecutor requested a one-month prison sentence for all the defendants. Attorney Aly Ndiaye , representing Coly Faye , asked the court to order him to pay a fine , arguing that the wrestler has a fight scheduled for this Sunday and must honor his commitments.
In the end, the court found Coly Faye guilty of the charges and sentenced him to a fixed fine of 100,000 CFA francs, and acquitted the other defendants.
