Didier Deschamps : «Aujourd’hui, Camavinga a le droit de m’en vouloir»
The omission of Eduardo Camavinga from the French national football team's 2026 World Cup squad has sparked reactions. When questioned about this choice, Didier Deschamps justified his decision by highlighting the Real Madrid midfielder's difficult season.
"What caused him to lose his place in the group? His season, obviously, even though he had some injuries and the competition is very strong," explained the French national team coach to the media.
Despite this omission from the squad, Didier Deschamps insisted on the undiminished potential of the young French international. "He is still young. That he has all the potential, yes, of course," he added.
The French national team manager also acknowledged that this decision could cause frustration for the player. "I don't doubt his potential and what he's capable of. But today, he has the right to be upset with me, I understand," concluded Didier Deschamps.
This absence illustrates the depth of the French squad and the fierce competition in midfield among the world runners-up.
