Senegal's U17 women's national team secured their place in the next round of World Cup qualifiers after their 2-1 victory against Tunisia on Saturday at the Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium.
After securing a 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Stade Olympique de Sousse, the Lionesses made the difference at home to guarantee their qualification. Solid and focused, they confirmed their superiority over the two legs.
In his second appearance on the bench, coach Christian Basse has made an encouraging start, eliminating Tunisia in this first round.
In this second leg, Mariama Faty and Mame Diarra Diallo gave Senegal the lead. The Tunisians pulled one back in the 69th minute through Yoldes Bhouri, but were unable to turn the game around, as the Senegalese side controlled the end of the match perfectly.
