Éliminatoires Mondial-2026 : Les Lions en regroupement à Juba, avant d’affronter le Soudan du Sud
To prepare for their match against South Sudan, the penultimate day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the Senegal Lions will be regrouping directly in Juba, the South Sudanese capital. A logistical choice that is as intriguing as it is questionable.
Indeed, no official communication has been made about the reasons for this regrouping far from Dakar, the usual gathering place for the Tanière. According to several sources, this decision was made to facilitate travel and avoid a detour through Senegal, making the journey more direct and less restrictive for the players, several of whom play in Europe.
After the match against South Sudan, scheduled for October 10 in Juba, the Lions will return to Dakar by special flight. There, they will begin preparations for their final match, against Mauritania, on October 14.
As a reminder, Senegal is in first place in Group B, with 18 points. The DRC is in second place, with 16 points.

Pour battre le Soudan Sud la RDC avait pris la décision de faire de Juba la capitale Sud Soudanaise leur campement de base durant 4 jours avant le match et cela avait payé ces fruits par une victoire éclatante et facile.
Le Soudan du Sud dispose d’infrastructure moderne pour accueillir une préparation d’une équipe nationale d’une manière adéquate dans de meilleure condition.
