Initially scheduled for Thursday, September 4, the Senegal–Sudan match, counting for the 7th day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, will finally be played on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio. The announcement was made this Tuesday, August 26 by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF).
This change in the calendar was approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA to allow Muslim worshippers to celebrate Maouloud, scheduled for September 4.
The Lions of Teranga will try, in front of their home crowd, to consolidate their position in the race for world qualification.
