Équipe nationale de l'Angola : la Mauritanie gâche les débuts d'Aliou Cissé
In his first match in charge of Angola, Aliou Cissé failed to secure a victory. The Palancas Negras were held to a 1-1 draw by Mauritania in a friendly that remained undecided for much of the game and was lively in the final minutes.
Recently appointed as head of the Angolan national team, the former coach of Senegal officially launched his mandate at this match played at the Larbi Zaouli stadium in Casablanca.
For much of the match, the Mourabitounes were the more enterprising side, but failed to convert their chances. Just when it seemed the game was heading for a goalless draw, Manuel Keliano sent the Angolan fans into raptures by opening the scoring in the 86th minute.
But Aritz López Garai's men did not give up. In stoppage time, Idrissa Thiam burst into the box to equalize (90+2), snatching a draw for Mauritania and thus denying Aliou Cissé a victory in his debut as head of the Angolan national team.
