Équipe de France : Didier Deschamps bientôt en Arabie saoudite ?
Didier Deschamps' name is being mentioned frequently in Saudi Arabia. Al-Ittihad, the club where Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kanté play, are reportedly considering the French national team coach as one of their next targets for the managerial position.
For now, Deschamps remains fully committed to Les Bleus and will not make any decision on his future before the next World Cup in 2026.
Asked in a "true or false" format during an interview with Téléfoot, on the sidelines of the announcement of his latest list, the coach admitted to having been approached by a Saudi club in recent weeks.
Without revealing the identity of the team involved, Deschamps confirmed the existence of discussions:
"I've had a few contacts. I won't name names, but they know my situation. Once I've made my decision, and I won't go back on it, I'll be free after the scheduled deadlines, and I'm not ruling anything out."
This statement only adds to the uncertainty surrounding his future, as his contract with the French Football Federation expires after the World Cup. Saudi Arabia's leaders, who are increasing their investments and making high-profile signings, might try to convince him to take on a new challenge in the Gulf.
