Équipe nationale Cote d’ivoire : le choix fort de Kader Meïté
After his impressive performances with France's youth teams, Kader Meïté has finally made his decision. At just 18 years old, the young Al Hilal striker has chosen to represent Ivory Coast, a choice he fully embraces and presents first and foremost as a personal imperative.

In an interview with L'Équipe, the player, who came up through the French youth system, discussed the underlying reasons for his decision. Far from career considerations, Meïté emphasizes a strong attachment to his roots. "Ivory Coast is special to me. My parents are Ivorian; they lived there for a long time. I grew up in that culture and I've always felt that connection," he explains.
Despite the opportunities that could have presented themselves to him with the French U21 team, or even a future with the U21s, the young striker never considered waiting for a possible call-up to the senior French national team. For him, the choice had been clear for a long time. "I was told it was an important choice for my career, but for me it's not a question of strategy. It's something that comes naturally," he explains.
Determined to honor his roots, Kader Meïté (1m, 93.99kg) even revealed that he took the initiative in this matter. Without waiting to be approached, he contacted the Ivorian Football Federation himself to formalize his intention to join the Elephants. This strong gesture reflects his commitment and his desire to be a long-term part of the Ivorian national team's project.
Now looking to the future, the young striker has big ambitions with Ivory Coast, including participating in a World Cup finals and proudly representing his parents' country.
