Cameroonian football continues to surprise. On the eve of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) announced the dismissal of national team coach Marc Brys, who was immediately replaced by David Pagou. This decision was promptly contested by the Ministry of Sports, plunging the national team into an unprecedented institutional crisis.

This battle for legitimacy reached its peak when both coaches publicly announced their squads for the Africa Cup of Nations, sowing confusion and unease among the public and the national team. Ultimately, during the tournament, it was David Pagou who led the Indomitable Lions, with results deemed generally satisfactory.

But just when the episode seemed to be over, a new revelation has reignited the controversy. According to information relayed this Friday by Sport News Africa, Marc Brys was never actually officially dismissed from his position. According to a source close to the Ministry of Sports, no formal administrative procedure confirmed his dismissal.

As a direct consequence, the former coach of the five-time African champions continues to receive his salary from FECAFOOT. Even more surprisingly, Marc Brys reportedly also received a bonus linked to Cameroon's performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, even though he was no longer in charge during the tournament.

Meanwhile, David Pagou, despite being in charge of the team during the continental tournament, reportedly still hasn't been paid. This absurd situation illustrates once again the deep tensions and dysfunctions plaguing the governance of Cameroonian football.

This new episode risks reigniting the debate on the administrative and institutional management of the Indomitable Lions, just a few months before the next sporting events.

Un entraîneur est nommé par l'état et Etoo égocentrique de son état a fait le bras de fer avec l'état en limogeant un entraîneur en plein mandat et un contrat en cours d'exécution . Etoo cupide et illétré ne comprend pas ce que veut dire la nature et le respect d'un contrat. Il a limogé l'entraineur portugais Conceceao et l'Etat avait deboursé des milliards. Coq sportif, etc....
