Équipe nationale du Maroc : après Achraf Hakimi, un autre cadre inquiète les Marocains

With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations just 40 days away, Morocco's coach, Walid Regragui, has reason to be concerned. Following Achraf Hakimi's injury, which could mean he misses the tournament on home soil, another key player has now been injured: central defender Nayef Aguerd.

This Saturday in Ligue 1, the Olympique de Marseille player (29 years old, 8 matches and 1 goal in Ligue 1 this season) was unable to finish the match against Stade Brestois (3-0). Replaced by CJ Egan-Riley for the last ten minutes, the Moroccan is suffering from pubalgia, the condition of which has worsened, as indicated by Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi in the post-match press conference.

“Aguerd is the bad news today. He is still suffering from pubalgia and he felt that it had worsened. He will undergo tests, but he needs to stop for a while. He could miss the Africa Cup of Nations. This is a crucial month for the Champions League. I hope it’s nothing serious and that he can recover quickly,” said the Italian coach.

The former Dijon player is therefore not expected to join his national team for this international break, during which Morocco will face Mozambique and Uganda.
