In its Tuesday edition, Le Soleil reports, citing sources close to the matter, that the national electoral commission tasked with overseeing the establishment of the Senegalese Wrestling Federation (FSL) is now fully operational. Installed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Khady Diène Gaye, it is chaired by Colonel Bassirou Ndiaye and has Magistrate Ndèye Seynabou Wade as its vice-chair.
Its mission is to develop the electoral timetable, define the electorate, examine candidacies, supervise the voting process, and announce the official results. The candidate submission schedule is already finalized, and the commission is currently making final adjustments before its publication, the national daily newspaper reports.
One sensitive issue remains, however: the list of eligible voting members. The commission promises to resolve this matter impartially to avoid any disputes. A new meeting is scheduled before October 30th to finalize and approve the electoral timetable.
The goal is to quickly organize elections in order to provide Senegalese wrestling with its first federation since the creation of the CNG wrestling in 1994. The commission is committed to guaranteeing a transparent, regular and inclusive process, with the establishment of an appeals committee responsible for dealing with any disputes, concludes Le Soleil.
