FIFA : le salaire mirobolant de Gianni Infantino dévoilé
The revelations are likely to cause a stir. Amidst the controversy following Michel Platini's scathing criticism of FIFA's governance, new figures published by Le Monde shed a harsh light on the remuneration of the world football governing body's president, Gianni Infantino.
According to the French daily newspaper, the Swiss executive received the colossal sum of $6.1 million in 2024, or approximately €5.27 million. Specifically, this amount includes $2.9 million in fixed salary, $1.8 million in bonuses, $1.1 million in various other declarable compensation, as well as $155,000 for retirement and deferred benefits.
The financial windfall doesn't end there. According to Le Monde, the 2022 World Cup in Qatar also earned him an exceptional bonus of €1.77 million. This additional reward comes on top of a significant increase in his salary.
Indeed, since his reappointment for a second term as FIFA president in 2023, Gianni Infantino's salary has reportedly increased by €2.7 million. This dramatic jump illustrates the extent of the privileges enjoyed by the head of world football.
These figures echo recent remarks by Michel Platini, who accused Infantino of favoring "the rich and powerful." With the FIFA president potentially running for a third and final term in 2027, these revelations reignite the debate on governance and financial transparency at the highest levels of international football.
