Foot: le transfert d'Isak à Liverpool acté pour 150 millions d'euros
Newcastle have accepted a record bid from Liverpool for Swedish striker Alexander Isak after weeks of wrangling, British media reported Monday.
The two clubs have agreed on a sum of 130 million pounds (150 million euros) including bonuses, according to The Athletic and The Telegraph in particular.
Isak, 25, is due to undergo a medical on Monday before formally signing a six-year contract on the final day of the transfer window, according to The Athletic.
The Swedish international (52 caps), who still had three years left on his contract, had refused to play since Newcastle declined an offer from Liverpool in early August, estimated at more than 125 million euros.
Isak joined the Magpies from Real Sociedad in 2022 for nearly €70 million. He scored 23 Premier League goals last season, which helped Newcastle qualify for the Champions League by finishing in fifth place.
On Saturday, German striker Nick Woltemade (23) signed with Newcastle from Stuttgart, for a fee estimated at between 75 and 90 million euros, a move that has unblocked the Isak case.
According to figures reported by the British media BBC and The Guardian, Liverpool spent 416 million pounds (480 million euros) during the summer transfer window, with the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong, in addition to Isak.
