Foot: l'Iran bat le Mali (2-0) en amical avant de s'envoler pour le Mexique
Iran's team, which is due to fly to Mexico on Saturday for the 2026 World Cup, beat Mali (2-0) in a preparation match on Thursday in Antalya, in southern Turkey.
Team Melli, who had cruised past Gambia last week (3-1), scored a goal in the first half through Saeid Ezatolahi (12th), before doubling their lead against the Malian Eagles in the 55th minute thanks to their defender Ramin Rezaeian.
The match took place behind closed doors, without any journalists present.
The Iranian players, who this week obtained their visas for Mexico, where their base camp for the World Cup (June 11-July 19) is located, hope to receive their American visas by Saturday, as their three group stage matches are to be played in the United States.
When contacted by AFP, the press service of the Iranian national team did not respond.
Iran is due to play its first World Cup match on June 16 against New Zealand in Los Angeles before facing Belgium (on the 21st in Los Angeles) and Egypt (on the 26th in Seattle).
