Football : Kalidou Koulibaly inaugure son académie à Ngaparou
Senegal national team captain Kalidou Koulibaly has taken a new step in his commitment to the development of Senegalese football and youth. After buying the Sedan club in France, the Al-Hilal defender inaugurated his football academy in Ngaparou this Sunday, named Mbarodi, which means "Lion" in the Halpular language.
This structure is intended to be much more than a simple training center. In his speech, Koulibaly emphasized the sporting, educational, and social dimensions of the project. "The goal is to create a new generation of talented young people, but above all to train men with values, capable of contributing to the country's development," he declared.
The academy already welcomes its first intake of around twenty young people aged 16 to 18. While waiting for the construction of a modern complex on a 3-hectare site acquired in Ngaparou, the boarders will be able to train thanks to a partnership with the La Tanière complex. The future site will include football pitches, administrative offices, a dormitory, and all the infrastructure necessary for the academy to run smoothly.
Beyond football, Kalidou Koulibaly wants to promote education and the personal development of young people. "We know that it's rare to have 100% of players become professionals. But we can have 100% of men who become useful to society," he insisted, calling on young people to make their families and their country proud.
The project is also part of a broader ambition: to enable Senegal to establish itself on the continental and global stage. Koulibaly dreams of seeing a Senegalese club win the African Champions League and participate in the Club World Cup. Eventually, the academy should have its own team competing in the national championship.
Acknowledging the role played by his brother and his family in making this dream a reality, the Lions captain also welcomed the possible collaboration with other academies in the country. "It's not about competition, but about working hand in hand to develop Senegalese football," he stressed.
With the Mbarodi Academy, Kalidou Koulibaly confirms his status as a role model and leader beyond the pitch. His initiative marks an important step toward structuring and professionalizing local football, while placing education and human values at the heart of the project.

Bravo.
