Football : L’Iran menace de se retirer du Mondial-2026

The president of the Iranian Football Federation has threatened to withdraw the national team from the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, after Australia granted political asylum to five Iranian players.

They had refused to sing the national anthem during the AFC Women's Asian Cup match against South Korea in Sydney, amidst the crisis linked to the war involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Labeled "traitors" by Tehran, they have since been granted protection in Australia.

l'iran ne boycottez pas svp, il faut juste mettre la pression à la FIFA et si possible jouer tous ses match au canada ou au Mexique , ne laissez pas ces maudits gâcher la fête du football

L'Iran a peur que les joueurs locaux vont demander l'asile politique au Canada ou USA... En fait les Iranians ne vont participer a aucune competition mondiale a cause des joueuuses qui ont fui.
